New design, same product

Garage Tip October
Schaeffler has developed a new medium to communicate equivalent part replacements and cosmetic changes in its products: the Product Information. The Product Information draws the customer’s attention to an existing product’s new appearance, for example, to avoid possible confusion and irritation.
Cosmetic changes need not affect the functionality of our products. With increasing frequency, however, customers have voiced irritation over changes in the appearance of products and, in extreme cases, have even refused to accept delivery or submitted formal complaints about the spare part. Because no previously existing medium adequately communicated these cosmetic changes, Schaeffler launched the Product Information, where a text in multiple languages indicates the modified design. Like the Service Information, the Product Information is linked to the Part Number and appended to the product in the catalogue.
